POSH TRAVEL FINDS PRIVATE SHANNON Exactly Two hundred years later to the date! POSH Travel guide CEO Verna Dunlap Escorts Private Shannon to Triangle Tavern, in Union Town, Astoria ...On November 22, 1805, on the Long Beach Washington Peninsula, Clark states, "Capt. Lewis Branded a tree....
Giving and Recieving Lewis and Clark beer tokens and Corps peace tokens filled the exciting time before Private Shannon asked permission to take a tile from the Taverns Ceiling back to camp to Brand with the Corps replica of Lewis M's branding iron.

Just like the First Corps, this brander is made by the Blacksmith party reenactors and is a fine replica. On November 24, 2005, Private Shannon Returned with the Ceiling tile branded and signed by every corps member at camp.

Astoria is one of three locations along the trail with branded ceiling tiles, SoHo Tavern in Woodriver, Illinois and Silver Dollar Cafe, Northwest of Helena, near Marysville, Montana, (so far) with a Replica Lewis BRAND and signatures of the reenactors.

On the evening of November 22, 2005... Posh Travel Guide CEO, Verna Dunlap, escorted Reenact Private George Shannon (Bob Shannon Anderson), the great-great nephew of Lewis and Clarks journey..the "Original"Private Shannon, to the most historic Tavern in Astoria, Oregon, featuring a Lewis and Clark theme.

The Lewis and Clark Expedition reenactors from St. Charles, Missouri, landed in Chinook, Washington, November 8, 2005, spending 18 days on the Long Beach Washington Peninsula. Chinook, Chinook Indians, Ilwaco Harbor, Cape Disappointment, Long Beach City Center, Seaview, Discovery Trail. The St. Charles reenactment Camp was at Chinook Park, and very likely the original location for the first corps, on the 24 of November, Thanksgiving day, many attended the commemorated Vote which included a surprise Thanksgiving dinner for all who attended. A big thank you to the Historical Society. On November 25, the corps floated to Fort Clatsop setting up Winter Camp. Everything has taken place just like the voyage of discovery 200 years ago..
The photo above and many to follow are brought to us by Private Shannon, (Bob Anderson) POSH TRAVEL GUIDE has the good fortune of trading End of the Trail commemoratives for print rights of his 4100 mile Journey.
